Disappointing beer nights

Did you ever have one of those night where you pick up a new beer and throughout the day you anticipate enjoying that beer that coming night. And when you finally get home and sit down with the beer it is a disappointing experience?

Well, that happened last night with the Maredsous 10 Triple I had. I heard a number of good reviews on the beer and I was looking forward to sitting down, watching the Phillies game and enjoying the beer. To my dismay the beer was harsh and astringent and just didn't satisfy.

If it would have been a cheep beer (not the $8 that this one cost) I may have considered pouring it out and getting something different. But I didn't have anything else that was cold and it was a 750ml bottle, so I would be wasting a lot of beer.

Luckily I've yet to have a truly disappointing beer night. I've definitely had a few beers that didn't meet my expectations though.

and I've had some nights when the Phillies don't meet my expectations....last night was a classic comeback that I didn't stay awake to experience....oh well.
