A - Hazy orange amber with a thick white head that lasted to the last drop S - Huge citrusy simcoe hops everywhere with traces of a sweet maltyness T - Starts off smooth and malty but bitters up quick with a strong pine flavor. In true east coast style the malt holds strong and supports the intense hop flavor M - Creamy thick mouthfeel with subtle alcohol burn D - Very delicious, but not something I would want to drink more of in one sitting - perfect sipper at 9%. I'm glad I have 3 more to look forward to this week.

Simcoe hops is too piney for me, so this beer rubs me the wrong way. That said, I haven't had it in almost 2 years so it may be time to give it another chance.

It is definitely an "every now and then" type beer for me. I haven't had any since I bought the 4 pack back in January. I've been thinking about picking up the Weyerbacher Big Beers variety, because I've been in the mood for Blithering Idiot and If I do I'll have a few more of these Double Simcoes to reevaluate.

Well, if you do, invite me over. I'll gladly share an Idiot and reevaluate a Double Simcoe.

I had a sip of this brew last week and enjoyed it. Need to get myself a whole bottle of it though to be sure.
