Pours a deep dark brown and settles to black. Thin to almost non-existent head. A very rich sweet malty aroma. Roasted aromas are also very prevalent.
A nice rich mouth feel. Some friends have said they thought it felt thin, but I thought it was pleasant. Subtle carbonation.
Non-existent hop flavors and aromas, but with this style that is expected. Picked up some subtle fruity aromas from the yeast. Couldn't really pinpoint the exact flavors.
There was definitely a lot of warm alcohol flavors from this one. I think this is actually what was most different from the tap version. I don't want to call it hoochy, but the alcohol presence made me think I was drinking something stronger than 8.5%
All around not a bad baltic porter at all. I do think it was much better on tap, so I'll have to try that again sometime soon.
